Staff Bios
Deb Pettitt

Deb Pettitt, RN, BSN, CCRA, trained at Washington University-Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis and is licensed as an RN in the state of Missouri and Louisiana. Additionally she is a certified clinical research associate. Deb has been in the Pharmaceutical clinical trials industry for over 10 years in several different capacities. She started as an inpatient critical care research coordinator, and moved into clinical monitoring and currently is the Founder and CEO of York Clinical Consulting. York is a free standing clinical trials facility specializing in women’s health clinical trials. Her mission is to respond to the crucial need for women in clinical research. She serves on several advisory boards for multiple pharmaceutical companies. She is also a member of the Crescent City IRB. She has most recently started a CRO (Contract Research Organization), “Women Under Study”. The CRO focuses on the design and implementation of clinical research protocols in the Women’s Health arena.
Dr. C. Scott Nicholsan

Dr. C. Scott Nicholson, F.A.C.O.G, is a board certified Obstetrician & Gynecologist and is a Fellow in the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology. He graduated from LSU-Shreveport Medical Center in 1993 and completed his residency at Tulane University School of Medicine, New Orleans, LA in 1997.
Dr. Nicholson is a member of several professional societies including the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Association of Clinical Research Professionals, American Medical Association, Louisiana Medical Society and the Jefferson Parish Medical Society. He has lectured numerous times within the community on women's health issues.
His interests include routine obstetric care and gynecologic surgery. He performs evaluation and treatment for menopausal symptoms, STDs, pelvic pain, endometriosis and PMS. He is committed to the advancement of women's health by participating in clinical research studies and advisory boards for protocol design and implementation.
Dr. Richard G. Helman

Dr. Richard G. Helman. F.A.C.O.G., is a board certified Obstetrician & Gynecologist and is a Fellow in the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology. He earned his medical degree from Tulane University School of Medicine in 1981 and completed his residency at the University of Virginia Hospital in Charlottesville, VA in 1984.
Dr. Helman is a member of several professional societies including the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology and the Association of Clinical Research Professionals. He has received numerous awards for teaching during his career in women's health. He has served as the Chairman of the West Jefferson Ethics Committee and presently serves on the congressional malpractice advisory committee.
His interests include routine obstetric care and gynecologic surgery. He performs evaluation and treatment for menopausal symptoms, STDs, pelvic pain, endometriosis and PMS. He is committed to the advancement of women's health by participating in clinical research studies and advisory boards for protocol design and implementation.
Phil Gelso

Phil Gelso, CFO at York Clinical Consulting, received a BA in Psychology from Towson University. He also has a Masters in English from University of Maryland. Phil spent 11 years in post acute provider side healthcare, sales and management for institutional pharmacy, rehab, mobile diagnostics and skilled nursing. Most recently, Phil has spent the last 7 years in investment banking/lending to middle market businesses, managed both debt and equity funds, conducted buy side and sale side transactions and raised all forms of capital from debt to mezzanine to various stages of equity.
